iSweat4 is a brainchild of mine when my last consulting contract finished in 2008. I have always been active, being a long time road cyclist, mountain biker, in-line skater, runner and qualified CSIA Level 2 ski instructor. I feel that there isn’t a definitive place on the web helping people who do sports, when you think about books you go to Amazon, but how about Sports?
It may sound ambitious to even mention such an internet giant, but one important thing I would love to mimic (beside its success of course ;) is how they set the standard for information on books. At the moment, I feel sporting information is scattered in the same way for books before Amazon's existence.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion and sport like other things in life doesn’t have just one right answer for a given question. iSweat4 isn’t trying to be THE expert on every sporting genre, but more to focus on getting everyone from absolute beginners to intermediate level interested in sport that I feel is the level where you can really start enjoying a sport. More experience members may find our events section more interesting, where we cover everything from leisure to competitive events for all to choose from.
But the essence of doing sports of course is to get out there and meet new people. Our social network will keep us in touch via the cyber space, but our focus is really in event organization, for members with any level of ability. I hope you all find it useful and start finding sporting buddies soon!
Finally, I would like to sincerely thank all for your supports, especially those who contributed in the content and suggestions I otherwise wouldn't have thought of. And my partner for her constant encouragement and patient, help me through difficult time, without which this site won't be a reality.
Happy Sweating!
